Nearly at the end of the house build

When this photo was taken, we had no heating and the log burner that didnt produce any heat. The snow somehow managed to make it all look very pretty!

This was taken at the point where I really thought that it would never end and wondered why we had even bothered!

Before house build started

This is the house as we bought it in 2008....we needed alot of imagination!

The house build update 6 months on!

I am delighted to say that we now have a floor through out downstairs....after months of having concrete! That has been a huge change for us as it is alot cleaner. We had floorboards laid down and then we painted them white,,it was a good idea at the time! We spent the whole of winter without central heating, we had oil heaters. When it hit -15.c the girls got into bed with us. It was bad but not as bad as the previous Christmas that we spent with no roof - just tarpaulin. We decided to invest in a log burner which was very pretty but made absolutely no difference to the room temp...don't ask me why?
We finally got around to decorating the lounge just before Christmas 2009, but could I decide on a wallpaper? It took me ages to find something I liked. I finally settled on Laura Ashleys 'Josette' and I am pleased with it.

I have neglected my blog!

I have to hold my hands up and say that I gave up on my blog in October, but I am going to give it a go again!!!! So much has happened since I was last here, with the house, the business, it has been a very busy time.

This is the bathroom afterwards. We made the ceiling vaulted and painted the walls in Leaden by the Little Green Paint Company. It actually does not feel that dark when your in there. We added a free standing bath. I found my lovely Art Deco mirror in a charity shop which cost£5.00 and I love it.

This chair is an example of the painted furniture that we sell at Ruby and Bettys Attic. It has been painted using Farrow and Balls Cinder Rose, which is a beautiful dusky vintage style pink. I am currently working on a matching bathroom cabinet.

The fab vaulted ceiling, which I have to say was a nightmare to paint trying to squeeze through the beams was not funny.

Our almost finnished bathroom....quite luxurious compared to what it was like. We still need to get the skirting put down, oh and more importantly a bathroom door!
